Alleluia! He is Risen!

The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!

We had a beautiful solemn Holy Week and a glorious, joyful Easter Sunday.

We usually attend Easter Vigil but these two decided not to nap on Saturday so there was no way they would survive the 8:30 pm Mass.

So 10 am Sunday morning Mass it was.

(Does anybody know how to get all the kids looking at the camera at the same time? Anybody?)

After Mass, we went to an Easter celebration at the Pro-Sanctity retreat center. This was our second year attending and we really enjoyed it. They have kite-flying all afternoon, an Easter egg hunt, and a potluck dinner. There’s also a nice playground for the kids with swings, slides, and climbing structures.

Watching all the kites fly…

… and then getting in on the action.

We didn’t get a picture of the kites in the sky because it was so bright out. Allie kept hers up for a long time. Joshua… not so much.

He decided to just to run all over the field. It was probably a good idea.

John Paul loves to be outside. Here I think he was coming to let me know that he was ready to get into mischief.

It was a beautiful day.

The Lord knows how we miss our parish and community in Denver most at this time of year. We love Holy Week and Easter at Holy Name. But the Lord provided a new celebration as a consolation for us, and we are so grateful.

I’m linking this post up with Pam for Project Snapshot.

  1. They are all so beautiful. What a great bunch! Our photographer tells the kids to look for the magic eye in her camera lens (you can see the shutter open and close when she snaps a photo). It works well enough that she can usually get a good one or two.
